There are two venue changes on the upcoming UK tour. The Wolverhampton show on Friday 29th April will now take place at NAC (Newhampton Arts Centre), and the London show on Sunday 1st May will now be at Nambucca, on Holloway Road.
Tickets for the original venues will remain valid.
The Mission have unfortunately had to once again postpone the dates for the European leg of their Deja Vu tour, which Gene Loves Jezebel were to support during the shows in Portugal and Spain. The dates have been rescheduled to April 2023 as follows:

James, with his band The West London All Stars, has a one-off pre-Christmas show on Sunday 12 December. It will take place at Pizza Express Live, 99 High Holborn in London. The band features Gene Loves Jezebel’s Peter Bugg Rizzo and their recent stand-in drummer, Smiley, together with Terry Edwards, Patrick Ralla, Elizabeth Westwood and Jennie ‘Belle Star’ Matthias, with a special guest appearance by pianist Harriet Stubbs. Smiley will also be the opening act.
Tickets for the event are available from the Pizza Express Live website (here). Limited ‘VIP Soundcheck packages’ are also available, where guests can hear songs in soundcheck as well as ‘meet and greet’ with James and the band.
Jay has four further solo appearances this month. He will be the opening act for Dead Men Walking on dates to celebrate the release, on Friday 5 November, of their new studio album, Freedom – It Ain’t On The Rise.
Dead Men Walking are made up of Kirk Brandon of Theatre of Hate/Spear of Destiny together with Segs Jennings and Dave Ruffy of The Ruts, and Jake Burns of Stiff Little Fingers. They perform versions of their own repertoire alongside classic covers and songs from their new album.

In November Jay will be doing two intimate shows at Arnside in the Lake District. They are being put on by Moochin’ About, the purveyors of jazz who have a Jazz & Blues café in the town, and these shows will be held at the Arnside Sailing Club on The Promenade.
On Thursday 18th November the first evening will comprise a Q&A with Jay, hosted by John Robb, and followed by a short set. On Friday 19th, Jay will perform a full set.
These performances will be dedicated to the remembrance of Jo McLaughlin, who sadly died young and suddenly earlier this year.

Gene Loves jezebel have been confirmed for Sinner’s Day festival which will go ahead at the end of October this year. The three day festival takes place at Heusden-Zolder in Belgium and GLJ will play on the main stage on Monday 1st November, taking to the stage at 13:50 for a fifty minute set. Fields of the Nephilim will headline that day, but the festival also comprises The Mission, Gary Numan, The Stranglers, Chameleons and Glen Matlock among many, many others. The 40th Anniversary UK Tour has unfortunately had to be rescheduled, and will now happen in April 2022, finishing at London’s O2 Academy in Islington on Sunday 1st May. Dates have been updated on our shows page.
With 14th May 2022 already sold out, the Cruel World festival have added a second date, 15th May. Announcement will be made on 25th June, with tickets available from 2pm PT on Wednesday 30th June, and a presale from noon. Gene Loves Jezebel, as Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, will be playing at the Cruel World festival in the USA in May 2022. Taking place at ‘Brookside at the Rose Bowl’ in Pasadena on Saturday 14th May 2022, the band will be alongside an impressive line-up of artists including Blondie, Bauhaus, Devo, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Psychedelic Furs, Public Image Ltd and Morrissey.
