Gene Loves jezebel have been confirmed for Sinner’s Day festival which will go ahead at the end of October this year. The three day festival takes place at Heusden-Zolder in Belgium and GLJ will play on the main stage on Monday 1st November, taking to the stage at 13:50 for a fifty minute set. Fields of the Nephilim will headline that day, but the festival also comprises The Mission, Gary Numan, The Stranglers, Chameleons and Glen Matlock among many, many others. The 40th Anniversary UK Tour has unfortunately had to be rescheduled, and will now happen in April 2022, finishing at London’s O2 Academy in Islington on Sunday 1st May. Dates have been updated on our shows page.

James Stevenson’s second solo album, ‘The Other Side Of The World’, is out today and available for streaming and digital download from all usual sources. The CD is available from his website.
The album is getting great reviews and has ‘album of the week’ at Metal Talk. Developing the intimate feel of his debut, ‘Everything’s Getting Closer To Being Over’ of 2014, the new album is richer and more confident.
With 14th May 2022 already sold out, the Cruel World festival have added a second date, 15th May. Announcement will be made on 25th June, with tickets available from 2pm PT on Wednesday 30th June, and a presale from noon. Gene Loves Jezebel, as Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, will be playing at the Cruel World festival in the USA in May 2022. Taking place at ‘Brookside at the Rose Bowl’ in Pasadena on Saturday 14th May 2022, the band will be alongside an impressive line-up of artists including Blondie, Bauhaus, Devo, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Psychedelic Furs, Public Image Ltd and Morrissey.
Presale starts on Friday 11th June at 10am Pacific Time (6pm GMT), and tickets will start with a $29.99 deposit. You can register for early access at the Cruel World website.

James Stevenson will release a follow up to Everything’s Getting Closer To Being Over on 9th July. The new one is called The Other Side Of The World, a reference to his brother, David, tragically succumbing to Pick’s Disease (a neurological brain disorder) last year.
Assisted by drummer Smiley and guest musicians including Henry Badowski, Terry Edwards, Jessica Lee Morgan, Elizabeth Westwood, Tracie Hunter, Mike Peters, Rana Rains and Harriet Stubbs, the album is produced by Peter Walsh.
It contains 11 tracks, and can be pre-ordered at James’ website here.
Pete, under the name Peter ‘Bugg’ Rizzo, has released a collection of solo work, in an album called Songs From The North. It comprises ten tracks, including those he released via YouTube in 2015-16. Pete plays every instrument on this self-produced release, with additional backing vocals from Juliette Risingham and Jay Aston. All proceeds from Bandcamp sales will go to The Rosa Fund charity, which supports women’s organisations.
