With just over half of the US tour now completed, Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, together with Modern English and headliners, The Alarm, plus entourages, are thoroughly enjoying the coast to coast adventure and playing to such welcoming audiences. The humour and bonhomie of the bands has made a long tour fun – a far cry from the them and us of the three-band tour of the US of 1987, with New Order and Echo & the Bunnymen – and they have looked forward to meeting and playing to fans old and new on every date.
Not only is there still chance to see these three entertaining bands live on the same billing (with James Stevenson playing in two of them!), but remaining dates also have special meet and greet passes available. These are pre-show opportunities to chat with Jay, Pete, James and Joel, get things signed, take photos and hear a personal performance or two before they take to the stage for their set. These by necessity have limited availability, but with the inclusion of entry to the venue it also guarantees no hold ups in the queue, as the first band on can be very prompt sometimes. It’s a great chance to celebrate what is a very enjoyable tour with bands of such an ongoing heritage.
